Simple Bedroom Organization Tips

The bedroom is often the most neglected room in a house because guests typically don’t see it. But your bedroom is your sanctuary. You deserve a clean, organized, private space to relax in. These simple bedroom organizing tips will help you keep your bedroom tidy every day of the year.

Daily Chores

Only 5 minutes a day is required to keep everything in your bedroom where it belongs.

Bedroom organizing starts with the bed. Your first task of the day should be to make your bed. If it’s not a habit, it may seem like a waste of time when you’re just going to jump back into bed that evening, but it is well worth the effort. The bed is the focal point of every bedroom and it often reflects the state of the room. Doing this one task will motivate you to keep the rest of your room in order.

Each evening walk around your room and gather up clutter. Put your clothes in the hamper, set your alarm clock and sort through any junk lying around.

Weekly To-Dos

Every Saturday or Sunday, dedicate a few minutes to bedroom organizing. Tidy the space by picking up anything that has been left where it doesn’t belong: old receipts, clothes, shoes, etc. Then change the sheets, dust and vacuum. Be sure to dust all furniture as well as any lamps, fans and window treatments. If you’re short on time, recruit a family member to help.

Seasonal Maintenance

When the seasons change, schedule time to flip and vacuum your mattress as well as launder your comforter. Spring and fall are especially good opportunities to reorganize your closet space and donate any unused clothing and shoes.
